We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Prosper, Texas, in the manufacturing/nutrition industry. As a Sr. Accountant, you will have a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the organization. Your key responsibilities will be centered around General Ledger management, assisting with month-end and year-end activities, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulations.

• Oversee the General Ledger, ensuring its accuracy and efficiency.
• Handle and record journal entries as part of daily operations.
• Play a key role in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Carry out reconciliations, including account and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist the Corporate Accounting team with month-end and year-end requirements.
• Ensure the company’s accounting/operational processes are in compliance with GAAP, internal policies and procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
• Handle ad hoc projects as required and perform other duties as needed.
• Assist in preparing books and records for audit.
• Utilize your skills in Microsoft Excel and NetSuite for efficient and effective financial management.
• Carry out bank reconciliations as part of the company’s financial health checks.
• Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role
• Proficient in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
• Comprehensive understanding and experience with general ledger and journal entries
• Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in executing month-end close procedures
• Proficiency in using NetSuite accounting software
• Must have participated in annual internal audits
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred
• Familiarity with financial reporting and tax regulations.
