Description:
We are currently searching for an experienced and highly analytical Senior Accountant to join our client for a contract role. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, preparing tax returns, managing the company’s financial policies and procedures, and assisting with budget control. This role will play a crucial part in the integrity of our financial system, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
At least 3 to 5 years of experience in financial accounting.
Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, the financial markets, banking, and analysis and reporting of financial data.
Proficiency in financial and accounting software applications.
Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis.
Must be proficient in advanced use of Microsoft Excel
Must be able to work cross-functionally with other departments and have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utility accounting, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis.
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
Coordinate and complete annual audits.
Provide recommendations to improve systems and process efficiencies.
Working knowledge of tax code and regulations, preparing and filing corporate tax returns.
Reporting on financial results on a regular basis and creating ad-hoc reports when needed.
Supporting various departments with their financial matters and collaborating with them for process improvements.
Maintain strong understanding of insurance/reinsurance contracts and financial transactions related to those contracts.
Coordinate with colleagues to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
