Description:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- High School Diploma; Associates degree in Accounting preferred
- 3 years experience in accounting or related field
- Ability to proficiently operate 10-key calculators and to perform calculations and produce documents
- Minimum of 6 hours of college-level Accounting
- Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Responsibilities:
30% Compiles statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses.
25% Calculates, prepares, and issues account statements, and other financial statements according to established procedures. Checks figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes. Complies with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
20% Utilizes various accounting software to record, store, and analyze information. Debits, credits, and totals accounts on spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software.
10% Classifies, records, and summarizes numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using electronic journals and ledgers. Codes items according to company procedures.
15% Accesses financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
