Description:
SR. ADVISOR, BUSINESS CONTINUITY MANAGEMENT (CALGARY)
One of our clients is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Business Continuity Advisor to support their Emergency Management & Business Continuity (EMBC) program.
Reporting to the Manager of EMBC, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the Business Continuity Program at the corporate and field level.
The ideal candidate is an experienced emergency management professional with expertise in both strategic and tactical business continuity leadership.
This role requires coordination and facilitation of plan management, and exercises, with the ability to travel to various field locations across North America.
COMPETENCIES & SKILLS:
· Strong understanding of corporate and entity-specific standards, practices, and procedures.
· Ability to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance business continuity strategies and procedures.
· Proficiency in evaluating, editing, and creating corporate procedures and documentation.
· In-depth knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS), with the ability to assume any ICS role during incident response.
· Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
· Sound understanding of regulatory requirements within the oil and gas or similar industries, including AER regulations.
· Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at various levels.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
· 3-5 years of experience in developing, managing, and contributing to Business Continuity Plans and exercises, with a focus on the oil and gas, petrochemical, pipeline, HAZMAT transport, or rail industries.
· 3-5 years of experience as an active member of an Incident Management Team.
· Incident Command System Certification (ICS-300).
· Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the oil and gas industry, particularly AER and ISO 22301.
· Knowledge/experience in IT Disaster Recovery Planning (ITDR).
· BCM software admin experience (Fusion, RPX, Castellan, etc.).
· Proficiency with MS Office applications.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/INFORMATION:
· Qualifications: Travel: Up to 25%.
· Expenses: Travel, Meal, and Accommodation expenses reimbursed at cost.

· Schedule: Mon-Fri, 40hrs/week.
Job Type: Fixed term contract

Pay: $54.00-$80.00 per hour

Responsibilities:
· Support the continuous development and improvement of the Business Continuity Program.
· Implement the Business Continuity Program at the corporate and field level, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all enabling functions and entities.
· Maintain, update, and improve Business Continuity Plans, including Business Impact Assessments (BIA), Business Resumption Plans, and Disaster Recovery Plans.
· Lead the design, scheduling, and facilitation of business continuity training sessions, drills, and exercises.
· Work closely with corporate emergency management colleagues to enhance the delivery of the BC program and ensure alignment with corporate standards and practices.
· Provide emergency response support within your designated area and across the organization as required.
· Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and best practices within your area of responsibility.
· Championing BCM in all interactions to positively impact culture and generate new opportunities (presentations, networking, etc.).
