Description:

Summary of Position:
As a member of the MTO PMO team, Manager IT Strategy and PMO will be responsible to support MTO Management team with IT strategic planning, Technology Strategy and business case preparation, create effective presentations for IT leadership & executive leadership team, support setting department objectives & KPIs, reporting success stories and business feedback. Enterprise Software and Applications IT function within Alcon IT supports key enterprise platforms mainly applications falls under the scope of MTO/SupplyChain/QRA verticle, ServiceNow, Workday,etc

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support preparation of Strategy plan, Milestones for MTO budgets and direct technology investment based on long-term horizon.
  • Support preparation of business case for Strategic initiatives & Continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Create effective communications and presentations to present to executive leadership on technology initiatives, strategies, success stories, performance metrics and internal controls.
  • Support PMO function with planning, reporting, communication; develop policies, standards and procedures. Advise senior management on status of portfolio/program.
  • Support global communication of success stories, organization objectives, quarterly global townhalls.
  • Support organization reviews to identify strengths and weaknesses, and to evaluate operational effectiveness.
  • Support effective alignment of IT investments with Alcon business priorities, translate big picture into details that shape compelling stories and point of views, roadmaps, and other deliverables for key stakeholders.
  • Build and nurture a culture of organizational maturation and growth, one that values continuous improvement of business processes to enhance execution, effectiveness, and ability to scale to successfully meet expectations.
  • Build strong relationship across the enterprise through leadership, proactive approach, collaboration and interpersonal effectiveness; become a trusted advisor to IT leadership teams.
  • Prepare and manage the project budgets, track expenditures and observe budget variances and implement corrective actions as necessary and also provide regular budget reports to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Identifying potential project risks and take necessary actions to correct the risks

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Project Management, Business Administration , Economics or Computer Science/Engineering stream. PMP or equivalent certification is a plus

Experience:

  • Operational Excellence: 3-5 years of experience in IT Strategy and operations. Consulting experience highly desirable.
  • Communication: Communicating effectively in an organized and knowledgeable manner in written and verbal formats - Demonstrating strong aptitude for conducting quantitative analyses, including extensive experience with Excel, Power Point or any project management tools especially constructing analytical frameworks and synthesizing complex data into meaningful insights.
  • Enterprise leadership: Must have experience working with a globally distributed, cross-functional engineering, product, and operations teams
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a complex matrix organization, in fast-paced environments.
  • Relationship Management: Proven ability to understand and influence stakeholders within and across the function, building trust and driving the change agenda leveraging both the formal and the informal elements of the organization
  • Program Management: Proven track record working in major strategic programs, transformative information technology projects and large change management programs.
  • Technology Currency: Good understanding of enterprise platforms with a standard template and single instance deployed globally.
  • Flexibility: Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
