JOB SUMMARY:

This position will play a key role being responsible for managing all local learning activities; coordination training for the plant includes the development, implementation of training curricula, ensuring West’s training and development is compliant with industry and regulatory expectations as well as maintaining the local site training activities in the learning management system (LMS) in alignment with corporate guidelines. To be successful, must have excellent relationship management, political savvy and influence skills necessary for effectively navigating with local and other business partners across the network.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s in in Org Development, Human Resources, or, Learning and Development or equivalent work experience is required
  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in a similar role in an international environment with an emphasis on operational HR development. Pharmaceutical experience would be a big plus.
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office tools, i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, etc.
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs and work instructions as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of learning and development tools and processes.
  • Pharmaceutical experience would be a big plus.
  • Previous experience using a learning management system (e.g. SuccessFactors LMS) and cGMP.
  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to effectively work at all levels of the organization, flexible mindset.
  • Participate in project work at local and global levels.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Solid relationship management, political savvy and influencing skills necessary.
  • Ability to work independently, including managing own workflow and deadlines, with ongoing attention to ever-changing priorities and stakeholder needs.
  • Aptitude and desire to learn new competencies and skills.
  • Ability to create and edit video content utilizing Camtasia/Articulate or similar eLearning authoring software.
  • Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Up to 5% travel in the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a local representative in global working teams to apply global processes for the learning management and individual skill development at the production site.
  • Develop a learning strategy for the site, which is aligned with global West people strategy and in line with local skill building requirements; independently manages execution of local learning strategy.
  • Manages the design of effective training programs and develop training material as well as train and mentor production trainers.
  • Manages and continuously develops the New Hire Orientation training based on the needs and direction of the organization.
  • Responsible for creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of critical competency curricula and assessments for re-qualification/certification throughout the facility
  • Work to harmonize all production trainings globally making sure the site is following global best practices and procedures.
  • Designs and develops specific learning solutions for the site and departments using proven design methodology, project management techniques and blended learning delivery options.
  • Independently maintains the global Learning Management System and govern LMS activities as a Subject Matter Expert for the production site.
  • Record management of training activities based on defined KPIs as well as fronting customers’ audits.
  • Partner with all functional areas to design training requirements as applicable and appropriate.
  • Consult, educate, and develop team members in their current role(s) and prepare them for next steps within the organization; partnering with HR to create individual development plans and career path strategies.
  • Act as an advisor to co-workers in all training matters
  • Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
  • Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual, and predictable attendance.
