Sr. Backend Engineer (Data Lake Team)

We’re seeking a passionate senior backend engineer who’s interested in making a major impact on a cutting-edge scalable SaaS influencer marketing platform. You’ll be involved with many aspects of our distributed data back-end systems including: extracting data from various sources (APIs, data stores, files, etc.), scaling our data extraction pipeline and orchestration system, designing data lakes or other relevant data exchange mechanisms, ensuring performance and data quality. REQUIREMENTS

• Solid experience with designing and scaling distributed data systems
• Proficiency writing backend systems using Node.js
• Optimizing applications, both stand-alone and in distributed systems to maximize performance
• Workflow orchestration systems such as Apache Argo or Airflow
• Experience with Python for writing data processing or analysis
• Ability to leverage REST and GraphQL APIs as well as languages such as PHP and Python, SQL query language for fetching data from other systems
• Working with or developing data lake or warehousing solutions
• AWS or similar IaaS cloud services
• Developing and deploying on containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Monitoring and alerting systems (statsd, Grafana)
• Clear and articulated communication both verbally and in writing

EXPERIENCE OR DEEP CURIOSITY FOR THE FOLLOWING WOULD BE A PLUS:

• Search engines (ElasticSearch a plus)
• NoSQL DB engines (MongoDB a plus)
• Event-driven systems using technologies like Apache Kafka and AWS lambdas
• AMQP Messaging systems (RabbitMQ a plus)
• Data processing and analytics such as Databricks
• Infrastructure-as-code software (Terraform a plus)
  This position is 100% remote, with the understanding that occasional in-person attendance may be required for training, meetings, and team gatherings, as determined by business needs

• Write high quality code on the backend of our platform
• Own feature development from start to finish, including deployment
• Proactively seek help and feedback
• Review the code of your peers
• Contribute to architecture/design decisions
• Collaborate with other teams to identify needs and relevant data sources
• Contribute to writing user-facing documentation
• Support our data lake customers, which may occasionally imply attending customer meetings
