SR. BENEFITS ANALYST

In this role, you will have the chance to positively impact our colleague engagement across by aiding in the administration of a diverse range of employee benefits programs. You will be regarded as an authority on colleague benefits, tasked with responsibilities including data analytics, vendor management, program implementation, and colleague communications.
Thermo Fisher is searching for a self-starting, individual contributor with strong problem-solving skills who can thrive in a high-performance and fast-paced culture. This role will support the attraction, retention, and motivation of our colleagues, by ensuring our benefits programs are aligned with the Company and HR objectives. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization, as well as project management experience. Strong experience in US and Puerto Rico employee benefits is required, experience with Canadian benefits a plus.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Over five years of experience in a fast-paced environment with growing levels of responsibility.
  • Over five years of experience in employee benefits administration, preferably with 401(k) plans
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, human resources, management or other related field; or proven experience in a similar role
  • Working understanding of Workday and Fidelity PSW is a plus.
  • Experience in M&A desired.

Responsibilities:

This role leads the daily administration of the US and Puerto Rico 401(k) plans, US defined benefit plans, and other assigned benefit programs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the subject matter authority and primary contact for plan design and operational procedures.
  • Reviewing, researching, and resolving discrepancies in integration files by correcting or updating information as necessary.
  • Balancing participant funding files to ensure they are reviewed and funded accurately and promptly on a weekly basis.
  • Analyzing and resolving complex benefit inquiries swiftly and accurately.
  • Assisting the team with the annual and ongoing compliance tasks for all retirement plans, including non-discrimination testing, audits, and other related duties.
  • Collaborating with vendor partners to stay ahead of legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments, aiming to optimize the Company’s plans for cost savings, enhanced benefits, and improved delivery platforms.
  • Providing analytical and project management support when required.

Developing and manage relationships with strategic internal partners across functions, such as the Colleague Service Team, HR, Finance, and Payroll, focusing on customer service while adhering to policies and ensuring service delivery.
