Role Summary:
As a Sr. Body Controls Engineer you will be an integral part of the body controls systems team, working on the design, development, and implementation of feature-driven automotive systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for feature-driven definition, decomposition, and traceability development objectives for automotive body control systems and components.
  • Participate in system integration and testing to ensure seamless operation of all vehicle systems.
  • Create detailed technical documentation, including specifications, design documents, and test plans.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis for system issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, and mechanical engineers to optimize system performance.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and practices.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain cutting-edge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong foundation in engineering first principles and practices.
  • Advanced understanding of automotive systems, including electronics, software, and mechanical components.
  • Proficiency in using engineering tools and software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Possesses exterior lighting systems and/or lighting component design experience.
  • Familiarity with automotive standards and regulations. (e.g., FMVSS, ECE)
  • Experience with embedded systems and software development tools & processes (e.g., Git, Jira, SysML)
  • Experience with requirements repository tools (e.g., Jama, DOORs, Polarion).
  • Knowledge of vehicle networking protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN).

Pay Disclosure:
Salary Range for British Columbia Based Applicants: $108,200-$135,300 CAD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
