Sr. Business Analyst

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Business Analyst to join our team. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders and developers to map, analyse, and document the data flows and related processes and systems throughout Abacus. A successful candidate will help identify, map and document incompletely documented or undocumented processes and systems. They will work closely with various stakeholders, some of whom may not be aware they are either producers or consumers of data, to uncover and document data and system relationships, translating them into technical diagrams and requirements for our data warehouse and development projects.

SKILLS:

• Strong analytical skills and ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources
• Strong ability to analyse existing IT systems, workflows, and processes to identify areas for improvement or optimisation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and tooling
• Experience with Azure DevOps boards preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with requirement gathering tools and techniques
• Experience with documentation tools such as Microsoft Visio or similar
• Ability to identify and document data flows and relationships within organic and tribal knowledge environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts to assist in translation of business requirements into data warehouse requirements is a plus

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst within a software development environment
• MSP experience a plus
• Experience working within Technology Industry a plus
• Experience working within Microsoft ecosystem a plus
• Ability to commute to Edinburgh office 3x/week

• Collaborate with stakeholders and developers to map, analyse, and document business projects, processes, and data flows
• Conduct thorough analysis of current systems identifying and documenting gaps, undocumented processes, and systems, working with stakeholders to uncover data relationships
• Schedule, plan, and lead requirements gathering meetings, translating business requirements into technical specifications for architecture and technical review
• Facilitate communication and understanding between stakeholders, project management, software leadership and technical teams
• Assist in creating user stories, wireframes, and other documentation to support software development
• Assist in prioritisation of project tasks from a technical point of view
