We are the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco—public servants with a mission to advance the nation’s monetary, financial, and payment systems to build a stronger economy for all Americans. We are a community-engaged bank, and are committed to understanding and serving the vibrant, expansive communities of the Twelfth District. That means we seek and appreciate new perspectives. We respect people for what they do and for who they are. We build opportunities to learn and grow. When you join the SF Fed, you become part of a diverse team united in its purpose to promote an economy that works for everyone.
The People + Culture (P+C) organization is looking for a Sr. Business Systems Analyst to join the People Analytics team. In this role, you will own the data that informs talent decisions, improves organizational effectiveness and drives a positive employee experience. You will partner with Bank leadership and teams from across P+C to tackle the most critical people data problems and build sustainable solutions to support the Bank’s people strategy. Your work will vary from short term ad-hoc analytical problem solving to developing and sustaining lasting improvements across the Bank’s people data ecosystem.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work deeply with people data systems and people data adjacent systems to understand how these business systems function, what supports the underlying business processes, and how to extract and leverage data to create analytical insights. Equip different audiences with right-size data solutions to measure and improve processes.
  • Execute rapid analysis on short timeframes to quickly address leadership questions, while also building and owning scalable, repeatable solutions that will support the Bank over time.
  • Build and manage models to forecast key Bank/ Group metrics to better understand underlying drivers, and potentially uncover new relationships and segments.
  • Drive continuous evolution of People Analytics portfolio of solutions at the Bank - incorporating new technologies and techniques as People Analytics data infrastructure is improved. Integrate data across disparate systems to improve accessibility and uncover insights to drive strategic business recommendations.
  • Project manage and partner across P+C, Information Technology and other key stakeholders on People Analytics technology initiatives including data infrastructure, automation and process improvement
  • Keep abreast of larger trends and technologies in the People Analytics field, including AI

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics/Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Business or related subject area, or equivalent work experience and training
  • Typically requires 7+ years of relevant technical or business work experience
  • Expert level SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases (AWS Redshift preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau (preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (complex formulas, pivots, macros, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively; can balance multiple assignments, keep moving projects forward in a complex, ambiguous environment, and shift gears when new priorities arise
  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain and present the findings of complex work to a non-technical audience
  • High level of integrity and ability to demonstrate outstanding judgment and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive data

Desired skills:
