Description:
We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Senior Category Manager in Durham, North Carolina. This role is within the IT Security industry and will involve managing sourcing strategies, working with internal stakeholders, and maintaining strong vendor relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Establish, manage, and review sourcing strategies for assigned categories in conjunction with internal stakeholders and their associated business strategy.
- Conduct sourcing events including the development of project work plans, category profiles, and evaluation criteria.
- Develop, implement, and manage assorted bid documents such as RFP, RFI, RFQ, and manage status reporting and performance metrics of sourcing and category management activities.
- Understand, analyze, and forecast complex market and industry dynamics, sharing subject matter expertise within the established portfolio of products and services.
- Partner with stakeholders to source products and services using proven tools, processes, and analytics to drive business results.
- Evaluate sourcing results from a total cost of ownership perspective and provide optimization recommendations.
- Participate in cross-functional teams responsible for complex vendor negotiations, including those requiring specialized subject matter expertise.
- Review and lead supplier relationship management and performance within an assigned category.
- Engage stakeholders to implement and execute vendor relationship management plans.
- Develop, track, and manage yearly vendor plans for assigned vendors within the assigned categories and ensure vendor compliance.
- Coordinate vendor risk assessments and develop plans to track and address significant risks.
- Serve as an escalation point for the business in resolving vendor performance issues.
- Manage contracts and collaborate effectively with Corporate Compliance, Legal, Audit, and Risk Management, and other internal stakeholders for compliance activities to ensure regulatory conditions are met.
- Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proven experience in Training and Planning
- Knowledge of Procedures and Policy making
- Strong analytical skills
- Understanding of Compliance and Research methods
- Experience in Planning Processes and Review procedures
- Familiarity with Contracts, Audit, and Finance
- Experience in Hiring Processes and Vendor management
- Knowledge of IT Security and Implementation processes
- Ability to work with Stakeholders
- Experience with Cloud Technologies
- Ability to Execute tasks and projects efficiently
- Knowledge of KPI Reporting
- Experience with Video conferencing and online platforms
- Understanding of Specification procedures and Risk Management
- Proven experience in Sourcing methods.
