Description:
THIS WILL BE A HYBRID ROLE BASED OUT THE BANFIELD PET HOSPITAL HEADQUARTERS IN VANCOUVER, WA. REMOTE APPLICANTS WHO MEET THE POSITION REQUIREMENTS WILL ALSO BE CONSIDERED.
Salary Range: $93,707 - $140,560 (DOE)
SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Ensure the timely and accurate execution of compensation processes including job evaluation, benchmarking, surveys, pay structures, merit, Annual Variable Pay (AVP), compensation statements, audits, analysis, governance, etc.
Ensure efficiency, relevance, effectiveness and regulatory compliance of compensation processes, provide market trends, insights and position-to-market analysis for assigned areas of responsibility and cross team project collaboration.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or Finance is preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Compensation certification (i.e., CCP, GRP, etc.) is preferred.
- A minimum of six years of compensation experience with a focus on designing, implementing, and managing incentive plans are required.
- Experience designing and administering short term incentives (may include sales incentive management) is required.
- Experience partnering with the business to determine effective pay drivers for performance goals is required.
- Broad understanding and experience selecting incentive offerings is required.
- Strong systems aptitude with curiosity to master systems and automate processes is required.
- Advanced proficiency in the MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is required.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills are required.
- Comfort working with statistical techniques, such as regression analysis, is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex concepts and technical issues are required.
- Knowledge of job classification, FLSA and wage & hour laws is required.
- Knowledge of external survey sources and tools is required.
- Experience with HR systems such as Workday and compensation administration systems is preferred.
- Healthcare background (veterinary or human healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.) is preferred.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
- Establish, plan and deliver key annual compensation processes including, but not limited to, pay structure development, the merit Increase cycle and incentive plan development and payout with appropriate governance.
- Perform in-depth analysis to create annual merit matrices, position-to-market reports and actions, appropriate levels of geographic differentials, and reports on market trends.
- Perform periodic audits of internal compensation data as needed.
- Partner with People & Organization (P&O) Analytics team to provide relevant information and recommendations to P&O and the business.
- Manage job evaluation activities via internal tracking processes and in accordance with Mars Job and Pay Framework philosophy to determine the appropriate job address (Function, Family and Level) and pay range.
- Participate in external surveys and conduct market analysis (benchmarking) to establish competitive pay in alignment with our pay philosophy, recommending appropriate individual total compensation for associates.
- Manage systems used in annual compensation processes ensuring the necessary data is set-up, stored, and maintained correctly for the Compensation Team to leverage.
- Participate in compensation projects as required, which may include design of new and/or revised rewards programs, guidelines, and policies.
- Provide effective support and service to our internal P&O Generalist community; develop and deliver compensation tools, training and communication for P&O and line managers.
- Liaise with other teams such as HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition and Associate Relations, as needed.
