We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Sr Compensation Analyst (Hybrid) on our Human Resource team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2-3 days a week in the office.
As a Sr Compensation Analyst (Hybrid), you will be responsible for administering and communicating compensation programs, policies and processes. Independently create job descriptions and complete market analysis to evaluate roles and compensation programs. Collaborate and act as internal consultant to the HR Business Partners and Managers on compensation related issues. Contribute to the development of compensation programs, policies and processes.

COMPENSATION ADMINISTRATION

  • Write new and edit manager’s job descriptions, aligned with market best practices
  • Independently market price roles and align to an internal structure based on external survey data and other related resources
  • Build base salary compensation recommendations
  • Participate in annual compensation surveys
  • Manage and execute annual merit and incentive process
  • Complete data analysis based on current compensation structure and data
  • Maintain Payfactors and other tools to support compensation analysis and job descriptions
  • Collaborate in developing and implementing compensation program communications materials, employee statement, policies, etc.
  • As assigned, participate in the development or review of sales compensation plans and/or supporting executive and board compensation reporting
  • Review and follow federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations and assist with ensuring organizational wide compliance

INTERNAL COLLABORATION

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partner and/or Business Unit leaders on compensation related issues and job descriptions
  • Partner across HR with Business Partners, Talent, and/or with Business Unit leaders to assess market conditions in support of creating competitive job offers
  • Mentor compensation team on best practices

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Required- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Finance related area
  • Five+ years of related work experience in compensation, human resources or finance. Demonstrated experience in working with sensitive information and maintaining confidential information.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven analytical skills, attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness in final work products such as compensation analysis, employee data, budget reconciliation, etc.
  • Proven ability to learn new software applications and train others in their use.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects and meet conflicting deadlines critical for success. Must be able to troubleshoot and identify potential solutions and quality improvements.
  • Experience in Payfactors preferred. Experience in working with an HRIS or financial system a plus.
  • Strong excel skills required, ability to write formulas and create pivot tables required; demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office suite of products required.
  • Able to synthesis data and make sound compensation recommendations based on best practices in the industry.
  • Ability to work extended hours in order to meet commitments and deadlines and open to travel if needed.
