Reporting to the Senior Manager, Compensation the Senior Compensation Analyst is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating compensation programs that contribute to the organization’s ability to attract, retain, and engage qualified employees as part of Metra’s business strategy.
The primary duties include: Analyze new and existing jobs using market data, established procedures, and internal equity to remain competitive and meet ever changing organizational and market dynamics. Design and conduct compensation surveys, analyze survey data, and make recommendations to maintain market competitiveness. Evaluate employee and applicant education and experience and recommend salaries for new hires, promotions, and other job changes. Work with managers to draft and update job descriptions; research jobs to ensure appropriateness of duties, qualifications, knowledge, abilities, and skills; and maintain the job description library. Analyze compensation data and produce reports to support compensation programs including the annual merit budget, salary structure management, and compensation projects. Promote safe work practices and maintain and foster a safe work environment. Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
