What you’ll be doing
The Senior Consultant, Workforce Planning is accountable for forecasting volumes and capacity for Credit Adjudication, Simplii, Risk Decision Support, Pre Adjudication, the Loan to Value group and the 2nd level insurer review team. This role is also accountable for creating all financial plans and latest estimates for the above teams, creating financial impact models for potential changes to the business, and supporting strategic initiatives such as Transformation or any other important new initiative from a workforce modelling perspective. The Senior Consultant is accountable to present volume forecasts and financial plans to key stakeholders within CIBC namely, Credit Adjudication and Risk Decision Support leaders and executives, TI&I, Risk Management, PBB finance individuals, and project sponsors. This role is also required to work closely with PBB to agree upon volume forecasts to be used in the annual planning and LE process.

How You’ll Succeed
- Analytical and Data focused - Develop, sustain and improve models to accurately forecast volume and capacity annually, monthly, weekly and daily that will allow for accurate forecasting and scenario planning for Credit Adjudication, Simplii, and Risk Decision Support. Integrate the volume and capacity forecast information into the financial planning process (including the quarterly estimate process) for Credit Adjudication, Simplii, and Risk Decision Support. Obtain sign off from key stakeholders for all financial plans and submit to Finance on behalf of the business. Analyze underwriter level throughput information and provide insights and action plans to improve efficiency, achieve SLA and develop, test, measure, validate and refine allocation and inventory management strategies ensuring optimal contribution to CA’s and RDS’s service levels and value proposition.
- Workforce Planning - Apply best practices within the team to understand operational trends, as an input into capacity analysis, while consulting with key stakeholders ensuring short term business strategies are supported. Support the Workforce team to develop optimal underwriter schedules up to and including creating schedule models. Provide analytical support to the Senior Management Team, and stakeholders with respect to the evaluation of processes, procedures and key initiatives related to workforce and inventory management utilizing statistical measurement tools. Provide consultative and analytical support to all Change Leads to determine the operational impact of new changes/projects.
- Communication - Communicating with a sense of urgency the impacts and risks associated with business planning methods or decisions.
Who you are
- Workforce System – Excellent knowledge of capacity planning and operational principles; including workforce scheduling practices and tools. Specific knowledge and experience managing multiple client groups with varying levels of practical knowledge and application of capacity planning and forecasting methods. A creative approach to manage new challenges and problematic circumstances. A strong background in finance or accounting is also required for this role.
- Excel Proficiency - Mastery in computer proficiency for MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project. Exposure to database software.
- Leadership Ability- Well-developed leadership skills to counsel, direct, and support other staff in a dynamic customer service oriented environment. Highly proficient in the area of influencing skills to present alternatives, resolve conflicts and minimize high-risk situations. Comfortable in a fast paced growth environment. Leadership ability to get results through others in a positive fashion; able to motivate and maintain a high level of employee commitment and morale. Highly developed analytical, decision making, and problem solving skills.
