Sr. Cost Accountant

We are looking for a Sr. Cost Accountant to join our Accounting team, reporting to the Accounting Director. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a strategic mindset to drive departmental effectiveness. This role combines recording and reporting accurate transactions with acting as a business partner to influence decision-making and guide cross-functional teams.

SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

5+ years of relevant cost accounting experience.
BS/BA in Accounting/Finance or relevant business experience.
Strong computer skills, including Excel (required) and NetSuite (or similar ERP system) preferred.
Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; self-motivated and detail-oriented.
Strong organizational skills, able to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
Capable of multitasking and managing multiple responsibilities.
Ability to work independently and remotely when needed.
High attention to detail, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

Managing the cost card approval process
Resolving PO and invoice issues, including analyzing root causes
Coordinating co-manufacturer reconciliations related to waste, PPV, and true-ups
Overseeing raw material reserves and write-off processes
Driving cross-functional improvements and training business partners
The position is based in Emeryville, CA, with a hybrid work environment (2-3 days on-site).
