Description:
SENIOR DATA SCIENTIST
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our data science team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in machine learning and generative AI, proficiency in Python, and experience with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) software stack. This role involves leading complex data science projects focused on healthcare applications, developing innovative AI solutions, and mentoring junior team members. REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 4-8 years of experience in data science or a related field, with a focus on healthcare applications.
- Experience within a healthcare setting (hospital, ambulatory or ancillary services), preferred.
- Expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI.
- Proficiency in Python and relevant libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Extensive experience with the Google Cloud Platform (Vertex AI, BigQuery, AI Platform, Dataflow, etc.).
- Strong understanding of healthcare data sources, healthcare informatics, and clinical data standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work on complex, multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Proven track record of leading successful data science projects in the healthcare industry.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including clinicians and healthcare professionals.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) data and healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
- Experience with containerization tools and technologies, particularly Docker.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with other programming languages (e.g., R, SQL).
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage healthcare-focused data science projects from conceptualization to deployment.
- Develop and implement advanced machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI models to solve healthcare problems.
- Develop and implement advanced generative AI models (e.g., GANs, VAEs, transformers) to solve complex problems.
- Use Python to build, test, and deploy data science solutions.
- Utilize the GCP software stack (Vertex AI, BigQuery, AI Platform, Dataflow, etc.) to manage and analyze large healthcare datasets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical experts, to integrate data-driven insights into healthcare processes.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior data scientists.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, generative AI, and healthcare analytics.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and senior leadership.
- Ensure best practices in data science and AI are followed across the team.
