Description:

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is the state agency that focuses solely on policies, programs, and services for people with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these. As Georgia’s public safety net, DBHDD operates six field offices and five hospitals throughout the state within three program areas: behavioral health, developmental disabilities and hospital services.
The main office for DBHDD is located in downtown Atlanta.

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking candidates for the position of Developer 3. The position requires extensive knowledge of Hospital EHR processes and procedures. The position monitors, analyzes, designs, and develops the department’s computer software applications. The position also maintains, supports, and upgrades existing systems and applications needed to keep the department’s software solutions running. The Developer 3 oversees a variety of in-house, vendor and COTS software solutions.
Other job duties heavy sql development and extensive knowledge of Crystal Reporting. The Developer 3 identifies and resolves program issues and errors, aligns enterprise application design, and assures security protocols are implemented within software applications.

AGENCY SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates ideally would possess Bachelor of Information Systems or Computer Science and/or 5+ years of application development experience.
Medical or Electronic Healthcare Records experience. Knowledge of Hospital EHR processes and procedures to include but not limited to eMar, order entry, medication dispensing, assessments, and ADT.
Knowledge of MyAvatar, RxConnect and Dentrix.
Ability to work within a team environment in both a lead and subordinate position depending on the various project’s scope
Microsoft SQL Server development (2012, 2019) related to RDBMS design, stored procedures, UDF, table structures, triggers, transactions, table variables, etc.
Oracle environment - package, functions, and procedures development
Utilize established development tools, guidelines and conventions including, but not limited to, Crystal Reports, Cache, Oracle, SQL Server, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RADPlus.
Knowledge of HL7 interfaces.

Function as the IT subject matter expert for the assigned applicant areas

Analyze and assist in the development of application specifications
Analyze and assist in the design of application database specifications
Ensure quality development and operation of assigned tasks
Write and debug programs or program modules
Ensure monthly maintenance and updates are performed
Compiles, debugs, documents, and implements computer programs to meet specific business needs and requirements
Analyzes customers’ information needs, business problems and business opportunities and assist in determining the most efficient and effective systems/programming solutions
