A DAY IN THE LIFE:

The Sr. Director, Human Resources EMEA is responsible for driving the talent strategy and functional processes associated with the European, Middle Eastern, & African regions of Tandem Diabetes Care. This role will support Tandem’s goals of expanding our international team over time and will be a key partner to other leaders in the region and abroad. This role will partner with senior leadership in across multiple functions including Sales, Marketing, Distribution, Supply Chain, R&D and Corporate in order to ensure business objectives for the market are met. Leading a team this role and the team manage the employee lifecycle and experience from job description creation, interviewing, offer acceptance, onboarding, career progression, performance management & succession planning as well as offboarding. This role collaborates with the HR leadership and Centers of Excellence (COEs) to drive processes in order to develop the HR function in EMEA. This role works closely and influences peers across the broader organization when it comes to the adoption and implementation of HR initiatives including workforce & succession planning, strategy including educating, advising, and influencing management and employees on issues involving, but not limited to: recruiting, employee relations, employee development, performance management, workforce planning and staffing, change management, and organizational development, to ensure the best use of company and workforce resources and facilitates achievement of the goals of the department and business.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the successful implementation and administration of various HR aspects in European, Middle Eastern & African Markets including organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, recruiting, and skills assessment and development.
  • Collaborates with other members of HR as well as COEs to provide oversight for the delivery of the annual processes (goal setting, appraisals & compensation planning) as well as advises on strategies for recruiting, onboarding, benefits, leaves of absence, and employee relations.
  • Provides strategic guidance and leadership on the design of effective recruiting strategies to source and attract the highest caliber and diverse talent to support Tandem Europe.
  • Manages a team of HR resources that currently include an HR Business Partner and 2 Recruiters.
  • Leads development of TA processes, consistent utilization of Talent systems, designs processes and practices to drive consistency of Talent records and ATS usage.
  • Leads the preparation and execution of innovative, cost-effective recruiting strategies and plans to meet Talent objectives in partnership with the business.
  • Works closely with recruiting, business leaders, and hiring managers to help build effective sourcing, selection strategies, and progressive ways to develop a diverse community of talent.
  • Implements strategic workforce planning, annual talent reviews and succession planning across the European, Middle Eastern & African Markets
  • Consults with management to proactively identify and address organizational issues.
  • Provides management with advice and counsel on employee relations issues and ensures corporate employment policies and procedures are consistently and equitably applied and legal requirements are met; investigates and resolves employee issues and concerns to address root causes of human resources issues, documenting and escalating as appropriate.
  • Builds strong relationships which enable the ability work through difficult situations to achieve optimal outcomes and be a positive influence in executing the overall HR strategy.
  • Provides business partnership to leaders to drive key business results.
  • Proactively coaches managers, directors and business leaders on HR and business-related issues.
  • Provides leadership through implementing and delivering solutions and interventions that address issues of retention, change management, employee engagement, and leadership development, partnering with subject-matter experts as appropriate.
  • Reviews and analyzes business metrics including data on retention and employee experience in order to recommend systemic improvements.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
