POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sr Director of Digital Automation is an accomplished leader with extensive operational experience and knowledge of technology, processes and measures of operational success. Must possess a strong commitment to customer service and a track record of implementing technology and processes to drive efficiency and resiliency. Highly collaborative and capable of building strong relationships within IT, with customers and executive leadership. Strategic thinker and planner - deep business understanding and ability to align organizational goals with business strategy and create action plans. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and allocate resources in a dynamic environment. Proven ability to establish high functioning automation frameworks and solutions.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities include:

  • Cultivate a culture of excellence, creativity, and continuous improvement within the team. Facilitate growth and development opportunities for team members.
  • Ensure a seamless user experience (UX) across all our automation platforms, leveraging the expertise of UX designers to make our solutions intuitive, efficient, and user-friendly.
  • Partner with our Portfolio Director to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to business needs and objectives.
  • Navigate complex project requirements, timelines, and dependencies to ensure coordinated planning and successful execution.
  • Develop and manage the budget for the digital automation department, ensuring strategic allocation of resources.
  • Drive the adoption of industry best practices and new technologies to keep our digital automation capabilities at the cutting edge.
  • Proactively and independently learns and utilizes new technology, concepts, and procedures as appropriate to project requirements. Maintains current knowledge of industry technology trends.
  • Captures, documents, and communicates best practices with other McKesson automation departments

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES):

Education/Training –

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, engineering, or related field

Business Experience –

  • 10 or more years of experience working in software development, plus 5 or more years of experience managing software teams is preferred.
  • 5 or more years of experience in large, cross-functional teams influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
  • Highly adaptable communicator- must be able to relate to leaders and individual contributors of all levels and present inherently complex topics in a simple and straightforward manner
  • Ability to responsibly prioritize and delegate work across a team supporting multiple concurrent activities
  • Experience working in an agile & virtual team environment
  • Passion for developing others and recognizing achievement

Specialized Knowledge/Skills –

  • Experience with UX principles and processes preferred
  • Experience in software engineering and/or software architecture preferred

Lead and inspire a diverse team of technical managers, software developers, AI solution engineers, and user experience (UX) designers to bring to life innovative digital automation solutions.

Develop a strategic vision and roadmap for the evolution of our automation capabilities, aligning it with business objectives and industry trends.

Work closely with other business and Enterprise teams to facilitate effective decision-making and execution across the portfolio, balancing risks, costs, and benefits.

Be an active member of the Community of practice, engaging, providing feedback, taking away and implementing actions as needed
