The Senior Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator will assist the Canadian EHS Manager with the responsibility of implementing safety policies, procedures, working with COR development, implementing the WSIB Excellence Program, assisting in EHS site audits, and other duties as assigned by the EHS Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • Minimum of three (3) years of EHS experience in the construction sector
  • Exposure to construction and/or manufacturing/industrial production environments
  • IHSA certification, or enrolled in, COR Auditor (or desire to obtain), CSHO/NCSO or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word with the ability to create working files and pictures
  • Must be able to work at heights and climb water storage facilities
    EOE, including disability/vet

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in gathering/uploading documentation and information for the COR 2020 and WSIB Excellence Programs.
  • Visit jobsites and take COR pictures, perform EHS site audits, etc.
  • Conduct daily/weekly reviews of the completed EHS documents to ensure COR and OHSA compliance and report all deficiencies immediately.
  • Conduct periodic safety inspections of worksites to identify and report unsafe conditions and unsafe acts and document the results.
  • Assist in the accident and non-injury investigation and reporting process.
  • Assist the EHS Manager in ensuring that hazard assessments are completed for each task (FLHA), and, as a result of the assessment, crewmembers are provided with the necessary equipment and training to safely perform job functions.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry safety issues, trends, regulatory changes, etc.
  • Assist the organization in carrying out its continuous improvement plan with the goal of achieving and maintaining COR status.
