POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position offers an exciting opportunity to join our European technology center located in Münster (Germany) as a Senior Engineer specializing in battery materials. The role combines cutting-edge research and development with hands-on technical service to support our local customers and drive innovation in the battery industry.

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Lead projects focused on developing new battery materials and improving existing formulations
• Conduct advanced characterization and optimization of cell chemistries
• Provide technical expertise and support to local customers, helping them integrate our materials into their battery designs
• Utilize and support expansion of state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment to perform materials research and product development
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to accelerate materials development and enhance battery performance
• Adhere to all intellectual property standards throughout area of responsibility. Stays current with relevant patent literature. Identifies opportunities to capture new IP and supports the preparation of patent applications

What You Will Bring to Cabot:

• Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in chemistry, electrochemistry, materials science, or chemical engineering
• Minimum 6 years of industry experience in battery materials or related fields
• Extensive knowledge of lithium-ion technologies and electrochemistry
• Proven track record in leading R&D projects
• Strong analytical skills and experience with advanced characterization techniques
• Excellent communication abilities to interact with customers and internal stakeholders in English and German
• Experience in automotive industry is a plus
• Experience with setting up laboratories is a strong plus
