Location: This is a hybrid role with a minimum in-office requirement of 3 days per week at our Ottawa, ON office located at 40 Hines Rd, Ottawa, ON K2K 2M5, Canada.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Sr. Engineer - PDG Developer to join the development and optimization of our Trend Vision One foundation services. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the digital landscape of our company, focusing on innovative problem solving and the delivery of high-quality user interfaces. Your expertise will be crucial in driving the excellence of our products and influencing our technological choices, all while working collaboratively with a team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the digital space.

Responsibilities:

  • Web Application Development: Design, develop, and optimize Web applications focusing on exceptional user experience and high performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with designers, product managers, and backend developers to ensure seamless integration and delivery of high-quality products.
  • Code quality: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient Code in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Utilize React to enhance Application functionality and user interaction.
  • Code Reviews: Conduct thorough Code Reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance team Development efforts.
  • Industry Trends: Stay ahead of Industry developments and integrate contemporary front-end practices to maintain competitiveness and innovation.
  • Agile practices: Engage actively in Agile Development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of experience in software development with a strong track record in architectural design and system optimization.
  • Expertise in backend development with proficiency in Go, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar languages.
  • Extensive experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and REST APIs in a cloud-native environment (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Demonstrated capability in leading projects and making critical software engineering decisions.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing automated CI/CD pipelines.
  • Deep understanding of software engineering principles, advanced design patterns, and best practices.
  • Strong skills in mentoring engineers.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and strategic planning abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively across different teams and disciplines, including close collaboration with SRE teams.
  • A continuous learning mindset with a passion for tracking industry trends and leveraging emerging technologies.
