Description:
We are looking for a seasoned health economics expert that can support and deliver on Risk Strategies Consulting’s (RSC’s) mission for innovation in data driven solutions and analytical support for complex client needs. The ideal candidate is an agile hands-on leader with technical skills and an extensive background in health economics outcomes research (HEOR) including experience with real world data (RWD) consisting of medical and pharmacy, evidence generation, expertise in HEOR modeling, and value analyses. The successful candidate will have a proactive approach to work, problem-solving aptitude and be willing to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. This role will need to roll roll up their sleeves to ensure quality results and support other team members as they innovate and define new ways to address health landscape challenges via health outcomes economics work. Responsibilities
- Serve as a productive and hands on leader within the HEOR department, ensuring quality project design and on-time operational execution (i.e. customer engagement, project outputs, models, etc..) are aligned to strategy with deliverables.
- Serve as a thought leader for the HEOR and analytics team on key area(s) of impact for modeling including but not limited to comprehensive value assessments, audit, and total cost of care
- Conduct complex analysis leveraging real-world data supporting health economics, Return on Investment (ROI), and healthcare benefit models.
- Supports innovation in consulting practice by leveraging Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) in the following areas: protocol development, methodology development, analytical oversight and execution, and development of final study reports.
- Utilizes industry-standard methodologies and techniques related to the analysis of health economic and outcomes associated with claims utilization and clinical program encounter data.
- Technical expert for point solutions analytical framework assessing clinical, financial, program outcomes, and conducting corresponding sensitivity analyses.
- Identify, qualify, and assess data anomalies to improve data-driven strategies and processes.
- Supports account specific HEOR strategies to ensure effective utilization of HEOR information, services, and tools.
- Develops and maintains effective cross-functional working relationships to assure effective teamwork with assigned teams.
- Communicates complex health economic and outcomes research findings internally and externally in a manner that is understood by individuals with less technical capabilities.
- Work collaboratively in cross-functional teams to execute and deliver projects in an accurate, effective, and timely manner.
- Leverages data analytics and modeling to test, validate, and track ROI of existing and proposed healthcare cost containment strategies and initiatives.
- Works with Analytics and Data Ingestion teams to validate data, enhance healthcare cost reports and analytical tools, and help design new products for enterprise consumption.
- Develops a deep understanding of the economic impact of the components, drivers, and indicators of the RSC core model and external factors.
- Conduct and oversee execution of rapid RWD-based queries and studies.
- Translate, document, and present the approach, process, and results of complex analysis into layperson terms for internal and external audiences.
- Support the development and training of team members and colleagues.
Qualifications
Required:
- A PhD and/or Master’s degree in a quantitative health-related field (i.e., Health Economics, Pharmacoeconomics)
- 2+ years of hands-on experience of structured query languages and analytic technologies (e.g., R, SQL, Visual Studio, Python, SAS). R experience is required for modeling.
- 8+ years health economics modeling with real world large data sets (pharmacy and medical)
- 3+ years of leadership and customer facing experience
- Experience with data analysis, data ingestion and data visualizations.
- Medical and pharmacy claims experience with database experience
- Experience conducting health economics modeling, ROI analyses, and indirect comparisons.
- Diverse experience of healthcare databases and data sources (claims, encounters, labs, EMR etc.).
- Extensive knowledge of healthcare/medical economics data such as hospital/physician /ASC claims, utilization data, and healthcare industry coding systems ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, Revenue Codes, MS/APR-DRGs and APC.
- Proven success in effective planning and delivering both individual and companywide goals and objectives.
- Strong analytical, technical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to evaluate complex business requirements for the purpose of developing comprehensive solutions.
- Solid interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and a professional presence.
- Ability to work proficiently with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
Preferred:
- PhD in Health Economics
- 3+ years of HEOR Technical Consulting experience
- 5+ years of customer facing/leading experience
At Risk Strategies Company, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off and paid holidays for eligible employees. The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected base pay range for this position is between $147,000 - $250,000 annually. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
