Description:
The Senior HR Generalist will oversee the daily operations of the Human Resources department in our Colorado Springs office. This role is crucial in supporting the overall organizational strategy by ensuring effective HR management and compliance. The successful candidate is a collaborative team member who will continually strive to move the organization’s talent forward. This role will partner with the organization to establish a vision of customer service excellence and continuous improvement. The Senior HR Generalist will report to the Senior Director of Human Resources.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field.
- 5+ years Human Resources experience, healthcare preferred.
- Proficient with Office 365 products (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Working understanding of human resource principles, procedures, and “best practices”.
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills
- Knowledge of state and federal employment laws & regulations
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- PHR or SHRM-CP credential highly preferred

Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Screens resumes, interviews candidates, administers appropriate assessments and reference/background checking, makes recommendations for hire (or not hire) and delivers employment offers for both exempt and non-exempt position openings.
- Uses traditional and non-traditional resources such as career fairs, social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.), job boards (Monster, Indeed, etc.), and community networking events to source and attract quality candidates.
- Partners with other members of the Talent Acquisition Team in the recruitment process and handles all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
- Fosters better & more frequent communication throughout the Colorado team.
- Collaborates with HR colleagues on cross-functional initiatives to help implement new HR programs, processes, and policies.
- Oversees Colorado new hire orientation to facilitate a smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
- Organize, maintain and update employee information as needed via HRIS system.
- Provides exceptional customer service concerning day-to-day HR opportunities and inquiries on policies, procedures, and processes.
- Conduct HR employee on-boarding and assist with organizing the training & development initiatives.
- Ensures facility complies with labor regulations (federal, state, and local).
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
- Assists the Benefits & Leaves Coordinator with benefits and leave administration, including benefits enrollment, workers’ compensation, FMLA and personal leave.
- May assist with or participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Performs additional reporting and analysis in support of HR operations.
- Assists the HR team with clerical functions such as making photocopies; sending mail scanning and emailing documents and other office management support.
