Description:

Reporting to the Regional Director of Human Resources Canada, the Senior Human Resources Manager will oversee the HR functions for our two Plats du Chef facilities in Concord, ON. You’ll lead a talented on-site HR team and implement programs that align with our strategic objectives, enhancing both employee engagement and operational efficiency

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Regional Director of Human Resources Canada, the Senior Human Resources Manager will oversee the HR functions for our two Plats du Chef facilities in Concord, ON. You’ll lead a talented on-site HR team and implement programs that align with our strategic objectives, enhancing both employee engagement and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with site operations leaders to align HR initiatives with business goals, fostering a proactive and positive employee relations environment.
  • Talent Attraction & Retention: Design and implement innovative strategies to attract and retain top talent across all levels of the organization.
  • Role Clarity & Development: Partner with management to define roles and responsibilities, ensuring optimal resource utilization and workforce effectiveness.
  • Recruitment Management: Oversee staffing and recruitment processes, including labor planning, background checks, and onboarding, in partnership with our talent acquisition team and external agencies.
  • Safety Culture Promotion: Work alongside Safety and Quality teams to cultivate a strong culture of people and food safety.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor for both employees and management, addressing concerns and resolving conflicts with discretion and professionalism.
  • Policy Development: Contribute to the development and maintenance of employee policies and procedures that reflect our values and commitment to excellence.
  • Recognition Programs: Manage employee recognition initiatives to celebrate achievements and promote engagement.
  • Training & Development: Lead onboarding processes and oversee training programs that support employee growth, performance reviews, and succession planning.
  • Performance Management: Ensure a consistent and fair approach to corrective actions, aligning with our organizational values.
  • Communication Facilitation: Implement effective two-way communication strategies to keep employees informed and engaged.
  • Compensation Oversight: Collaborate with the Director of Compensation and Benefits to manage local compensation programs and address employee inquiries regarding benefits.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Assist other plants with HR projects and initiatives as needed, contributing to a cohesive HR strategy across the organization.
  • Team Leadership: Develop and mentor your HR team, conducting performance evaluations and fostering professional growth.
  • Continuous Improvement: Be a strategic partner in standardizing HR processes and promoting lean manufacturing principles.

What You Bring:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field; advanced education preferred. Must have a CHRP designation.
  • Experience: 5-10 years in HR, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role. Experience in food manufacturing is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with HRIS systems, preferably Workday; strong project management skills are advantageous.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and ethically.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to navigate complex situations and engage in difficult conversations with confidence and tact.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong multitasking capabilities with a keen focus on deadlines and outcomes.
  • Innovative Mindset: A passion for HR process improvement, talent management, and employee retention strategies.
  • Results-Driven: A commitment to achieving plant KPIs and contributing to organizational success.
