POSITION SUMMARY:
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking an exceptionally skilled and motivated individual to join our Innovation team as a Sr. Manager, Data Governance Lead. This person will play a crucial role in spearheading our organization’s efforts to establish and maintain a world-class master data management program across all CTD domains/functional areas. This is an outstanding chance to create a significant impact by ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity of our core data assets. Data is a differentiator that can transform clinical trials to help bringing our clients life saving medicines to more clinical trial patients and ultimately to market faster.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 8-10 years’ experience working cross functionally leading teams in supply chain services organization in regulated industry.
- 5-7 years of experience in data governance or data management.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful data governance programs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of data governance principles, methodologies, and effective approaches.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
- Ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
- Strong ability to effectively solve problems and think critically.
- Proficiency in data profiling, modeling, and data quality concepts.
- Project and Change management experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with master data management solutions and tools.
- Experience in AI/ML Predictive analytics and Generative AI
- Experience working in a similar industry.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive master data governance strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Define data governance policies, standards, and procedures for managing master data.
- Design overall MDM architecture and interfaces (in coordination with Enterprise and solution architect) with appropriate systems that are either producing or consuming master data elements.
- Establish data quality metrics for master data and monitor performance to evaluate data quality, compliance, and governance effectiveness.
- Facilitate data governance council meetings, working sessions, and training workshops to promote awareness, collaboration, and alignment on data governance objectives.
- Manage and prioritize data governance projects and initiatives.
- Define and monitor the effectiveness of data governance initiatives.
- Oversee the data governance program lifecycle, including planning, execution, and continuous improvement.
- Promote a culture of data governance, stewardship, and accountability across the organization through change management initiatives.
- Work together with individuals from different business areas, data owners, IT, and subject matter experts to establish roles, responsibilities, and structures for data governance.
- Build strong relationships with data council and stewards and champion data governance across the organization.
- Educate team members on the significance of data governance and how it influences business outcomes.
- Collaborate with technical teams to establish and maintain data quality controls and processes, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of master data.
- Oversee data cleansing and standardization activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations.
- Evaluate and recommend MDM and data governance tools (both internal and external leading enablers) to support the program.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to enable data governance services to meet the business needs.
- Stay updated on the latest data governance technologies and effective approaches.
