Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
As the Sr. Manager EHS at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will have the unique opportunity to lead and shape the company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) strategies. With our world-class resources and ambitious goals, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, preventing accidents, and driving continuous improvement throughout the organization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Risk Management, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in EHS or risk management
- Effective leadership and personnel management skills
- Strong IT skills, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, database management, and electronic communication methods
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in the relevant field and/or professional certifications (CHMM, CEP, CSP, CIH)
- LEAN Manufacturing experience
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain policies, practices, and procedures to ensure EHS compliance
- Develop and support the site’s EHS Management System
- Lead the Workers Compensation Program
- Manage the SHED database system for injury reporting and OSHA logs
- Conduct investigations of accidents and near-miss incidents
- Analyze accident data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Ensure timely completion of routine Environmental reports and inspections
- Conduct compliance audits and assessments
- Design and deliver training programs for environmental, health, and safety responsibilities
- Serve as a technical resource in areas of EHS compliance and risk management
- Lead the site EHS team and report on metrics and performance
