What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be joining the Infrastructure Engineering team within CIBC’s Infrastructure group. You’ll be responsible for IT Infrastructure Middleware and Business Intelligence technologies and have the ability uncover valuable insights using both deep technical and business knowledge. You will foster ideation and impact our digital and agile transformation by enhancing our clients’ banking experience. You will be reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Engineering and joining CIBC’s Technology Operations group which delivers world class solutions in support of business strategies, through a combination of in-house systems development and working with leading technology partners.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Leadership & Communication – Collaborate with senior leaders across the company and make informed recommendations to enhance automation related solutions. Weigh business needs against technology offerings, security concerns and provide recommendations to improve automation, which are practical and achievable.
  • Governance – Proactively contribute to governance initiatives in the development of company policies, audit requirements etc. Provide technical or business guidance to clients within and outside your own department.
  • Engineering – Lead the Middleware and BI Infrastructure Engineering Team in evaluation, selection, design and implementation of new and emerging Linux products and techniques; support the development of business/technology proposals by estimating implementation costs and evaluating options; provide comprehensive senior level technical consulting to other IT senior management and senior technical teams.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate strong leadership skills and knowledge in infrastructures for Middleware and / or Business Intelligence tools such as JBOSS, MQ, Informatica, Cognos, SAS, Alteryx and their interactions with related SAN, Network and other Infrastructure solutions including but not limited to OS, DB, VMs and automation. It is an asset if you have experience working in an Agile environment and experience with JIRA and / or Confluence.
