Position Summary:
At Thermo Fisher Scientific, our Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Business System is designed to coach, facilitate, and grow the continuous improvement culture throughout the organization. In this role, you will work closely with the Site Leadership Team across the cGMP manufacturing facility to establish and mature the PPI System. This position partners with the senior leadership team to establish multi-year plans via strategy deployment tools and leading kaizen activity to empower teams to achieve their business goals and objectives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PPI Master Mentor/Change Champion Certified.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt trained or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 plus years in operations, process improvement or related fields.
  • Experience in working in a matrix organisational environment.
  • Hands on experience in material planning, supply chain, NPI processes and manufacturing.
  • Experience delivering continuous improvement tools in a manufacturing environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of productivity reporting guidelines.
  • Proven track record for developing, training, and mentoring PPI teams.
  • Financial competence in cost management and budgeting/forecasting.
  • Great communicator, including solid written, oral and presentation-giving skills.
  • Proven track record of identifying and delivering year-over-year results using problem solving.
  • High ethical standards to support a professional business code of conduct.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with and positively influence leadership and all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with site leadership to identify and implement project funnels, driving the culture change needed for profitable and sustainable growth.
  • Own the PPI productivity savings reporting process in partnership with Finance.
  • Provide hands-on leadership to functional teams, streamlining processes to enhance customer experience, enable profitable growth, and boost efficiency.
  • Lead, coach, and grow a motivated team that consistently meets departmental and business objectives through a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Lead and facilitate training in Lean and Practical Process Improvement Principles for the organisation by implementing standard process improvement tools for both non-operations and operations departments.
  • Analyse processes and partner with key business customers to find opportunities, present ideas, and make recommendations based upon analysis to further business goals.
  • Cultivate an action-based culture of continuous improvement to improve critical metrics, in the areas of safety, quality, service, delivery, and cost.
  • Collaborate with the site leadership team to create critical metrics and establish accountability tiers, while also driving strategic improvements.
  • Lead the site Industrial Engineering team in supporting the network to standardise and harmonise the manufacturing routings across the network and reduce variance and cost associated with the with manufacturing ACQs.
  • Undertake any other duties as required by your Line Manager.
