The Senior Manager, Warehouse and Logistics, is responsible for providing leadership to the Highbury Distribution Centre (DC) and Page Street Warehouse, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining high safety standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role encompasses comprehensive oversight of the warehouse facilities, the management of inbound and outbound products and materials, the coordination of inventory movements, and the strategic design and enhancement of systems and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategically oversee the operations of the Highbury Distribution Centre (DC) and Page Street Warehouse, encompassing the receipt, storage, management, and outbound shipment of raw materials and finished products. Optimizing processes, driving efficiency, and ensuring alignment with the company’s broader logistical and business objectives.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics for shipping and receiving, while identifying opportunities to develop and implement new KPIs to drive continuous improvement and align with strategic goals.
  • Assess and evaluate current logistics practices, and work with cross-functional stakeholders to conduct in-depth analyses of freight costs. Identify and implement opportunities for improvement and cost savings, while upholding the highest standards of customer service.
  • Motivate, coach, and inspire team members to perform at their highest level.
  • Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with logistics delivery providers, negotiating terms and overseeing shipments to customers both domestically within Canada and internationally.
  • Plan warehouse layout and space requirements to prevent loss or damage, achieving full warehouse optimization. Consider factors such as product turnover, size, and weight, and recommend warehouse design and equipment requirements to enhance quality and efficiency. Manage these improvement plans and activities.
  • Enforce and ensure the safe, clean, secure, compliant, and efficient operation of the warehouse.
  • Implement and improve systems/processes for warehouse efficiency, flow of material, shipment cost and status, product traceability and accuracy.
  • Take overall responsibility for the Inventory Record Accuracy program, ensuring precise inventory records.
  • Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments and other matters; make adjustments where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety, Quality Management, and Environmental Management System policies and procedures set forth by JHG.
