Now Hiring! Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Tipton, IN
Salary: $80K – 120K annually
JOB SUMMARY:
Seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join +Vantage Corporation, a leading custom automation and machine integration firm based outside Detroit, Michigan. As a key member of our engineering team, you will design and produce cutting edge machinery solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Experience
- Minimum of [5] years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on automated custom equipment
- Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and cost estimation
- Demonstrated knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and servo motion system design
- Competency in strength of materials and fluid dynamics
- Communication
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Leadership
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers
- Work with assembly crew to identify and correct issues during build
Responsibilities:
- Design and Development
- Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of mechanical systems and components.
- Utilize CAD software and other relevant tools to create detailed and accurate 3D models and technical
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate design concepts.
- Complete final documentation As-built drawings, spare parts lists, maintenance manuals
- Project Management
- Manage and coordinate mechanical builds on shop floor and customer sites
- Assist in the development of project timelines, budgets, and resource planning
- Monitor and report project progress to stakeholders
- Collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and industrial designers, to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into the overall product architecture
- Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives
- Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Develop and implement quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and performance of mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
- Continuous Improvement
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance, efficiency, and manufacturability
