QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent minimally required.
  • 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing plant maintenance shop.
  • General trades’ knowledge: i.e. construction, electrical, machine shop, etc.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Be a resource for other colleagues and ability to work well on a team.
  • Ability to fix problematic equipment with no schematic. Reading and comprehension of blueprints, manuals, and training materials.
  • Proficiency in the use of highly technical diagnostic and test equipment.
  • Skilled in problem analysis, planning and organization.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
    Physical Requirements:
    Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of 25-50 pounds, occasionally pushing and pulling 50-100+ pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and type for prolonged periods of time; visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time. Ability to climb ladders and not be frightened of heights.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for operation and maintenance of high-pressure boilers and all related physical plant equipment including: chillers, air compressor, water pumping systems, fuel supply/heating systems, water pre-treatment, etc. Operate and maintain WFI, PFW, and Distilled Water Systems per SOPs, CGMPs, and user department requirements.
  2. Monitor operation and performance through computer controls and review recorded operating data. Resolve equipment operating problems to maintain continuous operations.
  3. Sign Level I and II Work Permits, coordinate with contractor and plant maintenance personnel ensuring work is being performed in a safe and detailed manner. Provide information for the completion of Site Incident Report and Near Misses.
  4. Responsible for “Assigned Area” equipment evaluation, maintenance review, repair approvals, and housekeeping. Give direction and assist co-workers during their shift.
  5. Communicate to management the status of operations, equipment failures/corrective actions, and equipment readiness.
  6. Supervise housekeeping in utility areas and assign housekeeping duties to Stationary Engineers as appropriate. Monitor housekeeping services and communicate concerns.
  7. Track maintenance issues in Utility Operations and validate the equipment repair efforts of Stationary Engineers. Coordinate warehouse operations and guide Stationary Engineers in the required administrative aspects of maintaining the appropriate inventory levels.
  8. Assist supervision in achieving training requirements for Stationary Engineers and outside contractor personnel.
  9. Delegate authority and job duties during the Supervisor’s absence.
  10. Follow all job-related safety and other training requirements.
