MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain and or Logistics is required.
  • Vendor management and or customer service experience is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of the freight industry is required (e.g. Ocean Freight, Import /Export, Drayage, Intermodal Shipping, Over the Road Trucking, LTL, US Customs, Safety, Compliance, Geography, Rate Negotiations, and Pricing Methodologies)
  • Proven ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously is required.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with a variety of internal/external customers is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with minimal supervision is required.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required (Outlook, Excel, Access)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate and onboard new carrier partners, supporting route to market objectives
  • Partner with our Procurement team to plan and execute our freight bid cycles
  • Oversee carrier contract management, analyze freight proposals, and approve bid & awards to carriers
  • Recommend modal changes to the network based on market changes, lead time, and cost evaluation
  • Evaluate and approve requests for inbound freight cost to market including modal and route changes
  • Review, execute and communicate annual seasonal wine programs
  • Work with vendor partners to recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, carrier selection, and frequency
  • Evaluate the execution of freight from plan to execution, report on variance and recommend changes if required
  • Manage existing carrier relationships, fostering open communication and resolving any issues that may arise
  • Oversee the scheduling and routing of shipments, ensuring timely deliveries while minimizing transportation costs
  • Responsible for accessorial standardization, management, and review

ADDITIONAL PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a liaison with accounts payable, divisions and the carrier base to resolve open invoicing issues
  • Evaluate, recommend, and report detention and demurrage reduction plans
  • Establish and monitor logistics performance measurement systems including on time delivery, carrier scorecards, and carrier Quarterly Business Review (QBR)
  • Responsible for cross-function training and awareness to our internal and external customers
  • Manage, coach, and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results and added value. Maintain team key performance indicators, metrics, reports, process documentation, and other records in support of a continuous improvement
