Description:

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Project Accountant with Nonprofit/Foundations experience, located in Dallas, Texas. This role primarily revolves around maintaining accounting records, managing funds, implementing new accounting systems, and liaising with external stakeholders. Nonprofit industry experience is highly desired. Experience managing Foundation Grants is extremely helpful. 100% ONSITE. Office located South of downtown Dallas, TX

Senior Project Accountant (contract position):Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of QuickBooks online and transferring balances from the desktop version
  • Maintenance of accounting records in alignment with GAAP and GASB
  • Efficient and accurate accounting of received and distributed funds, both historical and current
  • Collaboration with teams to establish procedures
  • Execution of gift reconciliations on a yearly basis
  • Regular interaction with the external CPA to assist in closing out tax forms
  • Use of Raiser’s Edge for managing gift records
  • Ensuring accurate entry of transactions/information into QuickBooks online
  • Utilizing skills such as Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, and Foundation Grants.

Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar
Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations is mandatory
Should have hands-on experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel are required
Experience in managing month-end close processes is necessary
Must have Quickbooks experience
Should have experience in managing Foundation Grants
Must have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a relevant field
CPA certification or progress towards it is desirable
