Description:
We are in the market for a Sr. Payroll Specialist to join our team in the Printing/Publishing industry, based in CHICAGO, Illinois. This role is a contract employment opportunity offering long-term engagement. As a Sr. Payroll Specialist, you will be entrusted with the task of managing payroll processes, utilizing accounting software systems, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of payroll-related operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the entire payroll process.
- Utilize accounting software systems such as ADP Workforce Now and UKG Pro to perform payroll tasks.
- Ensure accurate calculation and distribution of employee wages.
- Stay updated with the latest payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and report generation.
- Collaborate with the HR team to ensure all employee data is up-to-date.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare and submit reports to the senior management regarding payroll statistics.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Minimum of five years of experience working in payroll within the Printing/Publishing industry
- Proficiency in using ADP Workforce Now for payroll processing
- Experience with UKG Pro for workforce management
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas, pivot tables, and charts
- Familiarity with standard payroll practices including wage laws, tax filing, and reporting procedures
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various departments
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate payroll processing
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
