Description:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
- 8+ years of experience in plumbing industry expertise
- Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD)
SKILLS/QUALITIES:
- Strong experience preparing construction documents using discipline specific software (i.e. Trane Trace 3D/700, Carrier HAP, Revit, AutoCAD, etc.). Full production modeling is not required.
- Knowledge of the Internal Mechanical/Plumbing Code
- Knowledge of local building codes
- Able to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal disciplines, clients, and other project consultants.
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with internal plumbing team to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Knowledge of designer Med gas plans from conception to full design.

Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE:
As a Sr. Plumbing Engineer, you will specialize in the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems. These systems include water supply networks, drainage systems, sewage systems, and fixtures within healthcare, government, house, federal, and education facilities. You will play a critical role in ensuring that buildings have safe and efficient plumbing systems that meet local building codes and regulations. This position will have overall responsibilities for the plumbing design on a project and will work closely with our other Engineering and Architecture disciplines on project deliverables.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Applies knowledge of codes and construction industry to develop plumbing system designs.
- Design Piping and Plumbing systems in a team environment.
- Perform field investigations to determine existing conditions.
- Create schematic design reports and scope documents.
- Prepare construction documentation, including floorplan drawings, isometric diagrams, equipment and fixture schedules, and specifications.
- Review contractor cost estimates and bid packages.
- Review construction submittals for compliance with contract documents.
- Prepare design documents appropriate for the project and in accordance with company standards.
- Design of appropriate plumbing systems for the project including domestic water, sanitary, storm water, gas, and medical gas systems.
- Performing appropriate plumbing related calculations.
- Coordination with other in-house disciplines as required.
- Review and back-check work for completeness and accurate documentation.
- Monitor project status and development to meet project deadlines.
- Coordinate the completion of the documents in the appropriate time to have a QA/QC review. Completed prior to project milestones and deliverables.
- Coordinate staffing manpower needs weekly with the Plumbing Team Lead and Director of MEP.
- Review the plumbing budget hours and coordinate any recommended adjustments with the Plumbing Team lead and Director of MEP.
- Work with team plumbing staff to identify tasks and assign staffing to complete the plumbing design
