What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a Sr. Policy Advisor to join the Public Policy & Business Development team. The assigned territory for this position will be North America, with a preference for California or Texas. Tesla’s Policy team supports the company’s objectives by engaging key stakeholders on a broad range of policy platforms, including legislative, municipal, business development and regulatory matters to support autonomous vehicle deployment. The Sr. Policy Advisor also acts as an initial business development lead, searching for, responding to, and assessing potential business relationships and partnerships.
What You’ll Do
- Develop internal policy proposals and strategy
- Support legislative and regulatory policy proposals at the Federal, state, and municipal levels
- Develop and negotiate policy proposals and business development opportunities, advocating on behalf of Tesla to policy makers and regulators, as well as engaging community, industry, and related organizations
- Coalition building and 3rd party outreach
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
- 7 years of direct experience with policy and regulatory issues in the automotive sector is required
- Knowledge of sustainable transportation, automated vehicle and licensing laws
- Must have a proven track record for advancing critical policy initiatives
- Must be detail-oriented and well-organized self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to self-manage and committed to working in a fast-paced environment
