The Sr Finance Program Manager position will report to the Sr Operations Finance Director. This role will serve as the Finance Business Partner for the VP of Quality, Quality Leadership Team and the broader organization. In addition, this role will work closely with the Diabetes Operations team and support strategic imperatives to drive and sustain gross margin improvements as a key member of the Operations Finance organization.

A Day in the Life

  • Serves as a finance business partner to the Diabetes Leadership Team members and organization. Liaise between Finance, Quality and Operations teams
  • Conducts financial modeling, economic research, and trend analysis. Studies subjects such as rates of return, depreciation, working capital, cash flow, investments, and cost against budget. Performs variance analysis, forecasting, financial planning, and expense comparisons by analyzing profit and loss statements and/or income statements.
  • Prepares Reports and Provides Insights: Prepares detailed reports of findings and recommendations. Compiles and consolidates financial plans and provides actionable insights to management.
  • Monitors and reports on financial performance, utilizes dashboards and conducts regular reviews to track progress against targets. Identifies financial risks and develops and leads mitigation strategies.
  • Identifies and implements cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies
  • Ensures alignment of financial goals with cross-functional partners through effective collaboration.
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to early career professionals within the Finance organization. Promotes a culture of financial acumen and accountability, helping team members develop their skills and career paths by sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Promotes a collaborative environment for continuous improvement and transformation. Identifies areas for improvement, implements best practices, and leverages new technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications - External
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7+ years of experience in accounting, finance, manufacturing finance, business or related field.
OR
Advanced degree with a minimum of 5+ years of experience supporting accounting, finance, manufacturing finance, business or related field.

Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Cost accounting experience

MBA

  • 5+ year Managerial experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to “tell the story” In a relevant and succinct manner
  • Strong collaboration, working in a matrix, and business partnership skills
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and regulations and financial analysis techniques
  • Experience leading and achieving results through others
  • Experience working across a matrix environment
  • Experience consolidating financial results in a complex, matrixed multi-currency environment
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Experience managing multiple priorities
  • Problem analysis and resolution at both a strategic and functional level
  • Extensive experience in a business unit area

    Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$142,400.00 - $213,600.00
    This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
    U.S. Pay Transparency (for SIP, Commission, Hourly Direct, Interns, Executives)In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a short-term incentive plan, which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals. The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
