Description:

EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related field, with evidence of operational, leadership, or professional experience.
  • Minimum six years’ experience in process development, operations or engineering in cGMP manufacturing industry
  • Experience with evaluation and design of process equipment and manufacturing processes
  • Experience in cGMP facility design and construction
  • Experience with project cost estimation and scheduling
  • Experience with capital project execution
  • Experience in a customer-facing role is desired

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Expert of manufacturing equipment and technologies for drug substance and drug product
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with and positively influence leadership and all levels of the organization
  • Excellent communicator, including written, oral and presentation-giving skills.
    This role is remote or could be based out of any Thermo Fisher location globally, domestic or international travel may be required to various PSG facilities including up to 20% travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Build capital project estimates and schedules, partner with PSG Finance leadership to build financial models
  • Lead capacity expansion analysis, conceptual design, and preliminary engineering (BOD) development, building project execution plans (resource planning, procurement planning, construction phasing options, cashflow planning)
  • Build project execution teams
  • Develop and maintain global construction database for benchmarking of future PSG projects
  • Ensure proactive pipeline management in terms of equipment platforms, facilities and processes in conjunction with marketing and development of new business.
  • Strategic master-planning lead (site master plan development) – partner with local site leadership teams to develop executable 5-year capital plans, space planning, infrastructure (end-of-life replacement), manufacturing capacity, office, lab, warehousing, sustainability
  • Evaluate, onboard and lead architectural, engineering and construction firms
  • Build and maintain relationships with business leadership, site leadership and technical SMEs at various PSG sites
  • Promote a safety first culture through use of design and construction safety standards, leading HAZOP reviews and partnering with EHS
  • Draft and author corporate engineering standards
