JOB SUMMARY
To provide prompt and efficient imaging service in cardiac scanning procedures
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Degree or Diploma in Nuclear/Radiography from recognized institutions.
- Preferably 6 years of experience in general radiography/nuclear.
- Registered with Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), Singapore with Conditional / Restricted / Full Registration
- Possess valid Practicing Certificate from AHPC, Singapore.
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for daily testing of the equipment before the day starts.
- To ensure that room is properly prepared before bringing in a patient.
- To brief patients on the nature of the procedures and explain what they are expected to do.
- To provide positioning and immobilization devices as required.
- To practise sterile techniques to prevent cross contamination.
- To ensure that the proper patient’s name and other required information are documented.
- To acquire diagnostic images in angiographic examinations, with due regard to radiation safety, patient care and clinical needs.
- To acquire diagnostic images in nuclear cardiology and cardiovascular CT examinations, with due regard to radiation safety, patient care and clinical needs.
- Be involved in the care of patients undergoing examinations with due regard to the condition and nature of the illness and reasons for investigations.
- To prepare and calculate proper doses of radioactive isotopes for administration to patients.
- Be responsible for the proper functioning and maintenance of radiographic equipment and accessories within the work area.
- Be responsible for generation of radiopharmaceuticals in the Hot Lab for use in nuclear cardiology investigations. This includes milking of generators, tagging of radioisotopes and conducting of quality-control measures to ensure high standards of radiation safety and quality of radiopharmaceuticals used in nuclear cardiology investigations.
- To ensure adequate radiation safety of patients, staff and public within the work environment and adhere to ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) principles, particularly with regards to image acquisition.
- To determine the optimal imaging protocol for Cardiac CT patients based on variables including but not limited to heart rate, patient cooperation etc.
- To practise regulated safety standards according to Joint Commission International and Occupational Safety and Health Act.
