QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced accounting knowledge
- 5+ years of progressive experience in revenue recognition principles, including ASC606, in the software industry
- Netsuite and Zone Advanced Billing experience highly desired and SalesForce experience a plus
- Software industry experience required; SaaS experience desired
- Advanced MS Excel/Google Sheet skills
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize and maintain attention to detail under tight deadlines
- Knowledge of audit and compliance requirements related to software revenue recognition
- Experience working in global organization
- CPA designation or equivalent is highly desired
The annual base salary range for this position based in the United States is listed below. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on Neo4j’s compensation practices, job related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and trainings, in addition to geographic location. Based on the factors above, Neo4j utilizes the full width of the range.
In addition to the range below, US employees are eligible for a stock option grant and certain roles are eligible for an annual bonus. Responsibilities:
ROLE SUMMARY:
We are seeking an accomplished Senior Revenue Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play an integral part in day-to-day revenue accounting in a fast-paced environment. This role will be responsible for supporting the month-end close process, deal review, and management of revenue recognition in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Our ideal candidate is experienced in handling highly confidential information and the ability to provide valuable insights to support strategic decisions. You must have strong analytical skills and an eagerness to learn, as well as being a collaborative team player who is willing to roll up your sleeves.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform contract reviews and prepare related revenue schedules to verify customer contracts have been accurately recorded in accordance with ASC 606 revenue recognition requirements of the software industry.
- Prepare, review, and monitor customer invoices for multiple revenue streams, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all billing processes.
- Participate in all aspects of the revenue month-end close process, including creating journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
- Perform analyses to support recurring technical accounting requirements, such as Standalone Selling Price.
- Work with cross functional teams to maintain an understanding of the company’s products and programs (new and existing) and their impact on revenue recognition requirements.
- Perform monthly booking and billing reconciliation in Salesforce CPQ and Netsuite.
- Provide in-depth revenue analysis and insights to management and stakeholders.
- Reconcile sales tax transactions, assist with state registrations, and perform quarterly nexus studies.
- Support revenue-related audits and reviews, including providing documentation and addressing external auditor questions.
- Participate in process improvement projects and conduct ad hoc analyses as needed.
