What You Will Do:
We are looking for an experienced Safety and Reliability Engineer :to join Korry’s Utility and Control Systems engineering group. This individual will be heavily involved in the conceptualization, architecture, design and development of modern civil and military avionic systems, subsystems and LRUs.
The selected person will be a dynamic, self-motivated employee who can quickly become a significant individual contributor in a multi-disciplined development team. The successful candidate will also be responsible for design activities characterized by fast-paced, creative, and solid development of high-performance avionics and defense products.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and analyze the following; Reliability analyses, Fault Trees, equipment Failure Modes effects, equipment Safety, Hazards and Maintainability impact analyses
- Must understand electrical schematics, with the ability to work closely with designers on preliminary designs to identify requirement non-conformances and elicit ideas for solutions.
- Regularly read mechanical drawings
- Work closely with Quality Engineering in areas of Reliability and Safety particularly in determining root cause and identifying and driving corrective action solutions.
- Deliver strong communication with customer counterparts and program managers.
- Knowledge of requirements working in an Aerospace ISO-Certified Quality environment with required procedural disciplines.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other Aerospace Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of five years of experience in Reliability.
- Minimum of three years of experience in Safety.
- Experience with software-based systems desired.
- Experience with statistical reliability, quality metrics and Weibull analysis desired, experience with statistical reliability tools such as Minitab, a plus.
- Experience with derating desired.
- 2 years’ experience with Maintenance and packaging designs, ability to evaluate package design assembly and disassembly steps and estimate repair and replacement maintenance metrics.
- Experience in optics is a plus.
- Experience in aerospace equipment for certification required, through completion and entry into service a plus.
- Experience in use of fault tree tools required, in either CAFTA Fault Tree or Relex Fault Tree preferred.
- Experience in FRACAS systems and Field Reliability tracking required. Ability to support RMA Repair Station problems as required.
- Experience with Mil-Hdbk-217, Mil-Hdbk-472, Mil-Std-882, DO-254, DO-178, DO-160.
- Experience with any of the RELEX Reliability Prediction Modules, 217PLUS, Mil-Hdbk-217, PRISM, FIDES and basic supporting commercial softwares such as Visio, Excel and Word.
- Experience in Reliability testing, HALT testing, HASS testing, ESS testing and reviewing their effectiveness.
- Experience in component destructive failure analyses and evaluations a plus.
- Knowledge in Cyber security
- Experience in Systems Engineering and any requirements capture software a plus, familiarity with DOORs
