About the Team:
The Sales Engineering team at Synacor plays a critical role in driving sales success for our industry leading email product, Zimbra. We are a collaborative and results-oriented group that works closely with the Product, Sales and Marketing teams to provide technical expertise throughout the sales cycle.
About the Role:
Are you a seasoned Sales Engineer with a passion for technology and a proven track record of success? In this role, you will leverage your deep technical expertise to lead the technical sales cyclefor assigned accounts and play a key role in closing deals for our email product.
The Sr. Sales Engineer role sits as part of the Channel GTM team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our reach within the EMEA markets by building strategic partnerships with the Channel partners (VARs, MSPs, Hosting Provides). This position supports pre-sales initiatives for Synacor for product opportunities by working with the sales and client services teams to architect, design, propose, and close both existing and new business opportunities. The Sr. Sales Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. They will become part of a team focused on delivery high quality solutions with excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical sales cycle for assigned accounts, independently managing customer relationships and technical discussions.
  • Develop and deliver compelling technical materials and proposals tailored to specific customer needs.
  • Stay at the forefront of the email technology landscape, identifying industry trends and competitor solutions.
  • Jointly develop and execute targeted sales strategy in collaboration with the Sales and Channel GTM team to recruit and onboard partners in the region
  • Communicate the value proposition of new products and services to the channel, equipping them to effectively resell it to their own clients.
  • Mentor and guide other junior members of the team.
  • Conduct complex technical demonstrations and proof-of-concepts to showcase the value proposition of our email product.
  • Collaborate with support and post-sales teams to ensure smooth implementation and customer satisfaction.

Education, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in related area (Engineering, etc).
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in a technical sales or pre-sales role, preferably within the IT or telecommunications industry.
  • Solid understanding of the technologies and systems related to email and collaboration products.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales strategies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to influence decision-makers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of Linux with additional skills on basic shell scripting, virtualization and open-source technologies
  • Strong technical aptitude with a grasp of APIs, integrations, customizations, and migrations would be good to have
  • Basic experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and technical documentation tools.
  • Must be able to travel across Europe, Middle East and Africa
  • French or Spanish language would be an added bonus
