Job Title: Sr. Scrum Master
Location: Baltimore, Maryland (Remote)
Duration: 12 Months
Note: Must be local to the DMV region (District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia).
OVERVIEW:
Are you passionate about Agile methodologies and looking to take the lead in an impactful, fast-paced environment? We’re seeking a Senior Scrum Master to guide cross-functional teams and drive agile transformation at scale. If you have experience facilitating Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and a deep understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe practices, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Facilitation (40%): Act as the Scrum Master for multiple teams or Release Train Engineer (RTE) for an ART, driving continuous improvement and helping teams reach their goals through Agile practices.
- Communication & Coordination (30%): Collaborate with other teams to improve flow and throughput, leading cross-team ceremonies such as Scrum of Scrums and PI planning.
- Impediment Removal (15%): Identify and resolve blockers that impede team/ART success, working with internal and external stakeholders to address issues.
- Agile Leadership (15%): Promote a Lean-Agile mindset and drive business agility initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and improved team dynamics.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience using Lean and Agile methodologies, with 3+ years as a Scrum Master or Kanban Lead. Proven success in leading Agile teams to maturity and improved outcomes.
- Preferred Experience: Experience as a Scrum Master within a SAFe Agile Release Train, facilitating cross-functional teams and applying Lean techniques for system-level optimizations.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Expertise in Lean Agile principles, Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe frameworks.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively.
- Proficient in Agile tools and Microsoft Office, with the ability to create metrics/reports/dashboards.
- Ability to drive change, resolve conflicts, and inspire accountability within the teams.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSP) required.
- SAFe Scrum Master certification and SAFe Release Train Engineer certification preferred.
- Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) is a plus.
