You will be part of a team responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our distributed systems. You will lead initiatives to develop and implement solutions that enhance our system’s stability and operational efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of both software development and systems operations, along with leadership and mentoring capabilities.

What you’ll do:

  • Maintain and operate distributed systems software
  • Debug software issues and conduct root cause analyses (RCAs)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to discuss and implement technical solutions
  • Monitor and manage system performance using modern observability tools
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Manage and deploy applications in Kubernetes environments
  • Automate operational tasks to enhance system reliability and scalability

Required Experience:

  • Distributed Systems: 5+ years of experience in programming and/or operating distributed systems software Programming
  • Languages: 3+ years of experience programming in one or more modern programming languages such as Python, Go, JavaScript, Java, or .NET
  • Debugging and RCAs: 3+ years of experience debugging complex software issues and performing root cause analyses (RCAs)
  • Technical Communication: Proven ability to discuss technical issues and solutions with non-technical team members
  • Observability Tools: Extensive experience with modern observability stacks like Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, Datadog, Splunk, or SumoLogic
  • IaC Tools: Advanced experience with IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Chef
  • Kubernetes: Experience with Kubernetes for managing and deploying containerized applications, along with tools like Helm, ArgoCD, GitLab, kubectl
  • Metrics and Tracing: 3+ years of expertise with metrics, time-series, logging, and/or distributed tracing
  • Cloud Providers: 1+ years of experience working with cloud providers like GCP, AWS or Azure
  • SDLC Knowledge: Working knowledge of SDLC concepts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and related tools.
  • Cloud Platforms: Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
