EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree in a related field preferred, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills. Military Service/Training in lieu of a degree may also be considered.

EXPERIENCE

  • 4 years of related experience in inventory management (within a laboratory setting is preferred).
  • Inventory experience and implementation/planograms/set up experience preferred.
  • IATA/DOT certification is also a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and desire to deliver excellent customer service. This includes maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific’s values.
  • Demonstrates computer proficiency and possesses intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software. Uses organizational skills to multi-task and meet due dates as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Requires the ability to lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 50 pounds occasionally, including operation and use of pushcarts, pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
  • Team lift may be required for heavier items
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods
  • Works primarily at customer sites, which may include spaces where chemical-based allergens are in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc). Depending on the area of the building, personal protective equipment may be worn,
  • Ability to work overtime, as needed.

Responsibilities:

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Travel to provide support at multiple customer facilities for scheduled and unscheduled gaps in coverage; in some cases, for extended periods.
  • Implementation (ULS program setup)/project support at customer locations.
  • Inventory Management: Stock room, POU management, dispensing of products, etc.
  • Order Management: Order entry, order expediting, customer service support, etc.
  • Chemical Management Receive, register, and track chemical containers, etc.
  • Glass wash Operations: End-to-end glass wash sterilization processes including inspection of glassware, etc.
  • Tank/Dry Ice Management
  • Basic equipment maintenance
  • Biohazardous Waste management
  • Office supplies management
  • Media Prep
  • Outbound Shipping
  • Dock and Shipping Management
  • Other laboratory support services
  • Drive Process Improvement culture
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management
