Description:

Remote role for candidates based in Poland.
Responsible for leading and maintaining the design and configuration of UL’s ECM (Enterprise Content Management) middle tier API, Content Services Gateway, which provides authentication and OpenText Extended ECM functionality to over seventeen application integrations in support of worldwide product safety engineering inspection, testing and certification, account services, and fulfillment.

The Sr. ECM Application Engineer works with IT application, architecture, operations, and network teams to ensure that secure accessibility and functionality is available for UL Solutions to provide client and internal users the ability to store, download, edit, search, publish, disposition, and share documents.

  • Serves as the primary technical consultant on matters related to integrating UL Solutions’ applications to manage client service output with the primary source of truth for the content, templates, and finalized documents for clients and internal business management processes.
  • Analyze system requirements and prepare technical specifications, code, test and document solution designs, Proof of Concepts results, and implementations.
  • Lead in the creation and maintenance of restful APIs to offer consuming APIs seamless connection to OpenText Content Server and other application functions enabling smooth data flow and interoperability.
  • Design, configure, and maintain integration architecture between globally utilized complex systems using Azure APIM product and subscription management, Azure Dev Ops, GitHub, Microsoft Azure SQL, SQL Server, .NET, API Design and development, OpenText RESTful services and applications.
  • Design and implement custom SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures to support application requirements.
  • Independently identify, analyze, and resolve application issues, employing effective troubleshooting techniques to enhance system reliability and performance.
  • Design modifications to existing systems to meet evolving business needs and technological advancements.
  • Configure Azure Dashboards and guide Operations teams on maintaining the necessary Microsoft APIM insights to monitor ECM application integration performance and adjust Content Services Gateway.api as necessary to address performance issues.
  • Evaluates supplied software products and applications for the purpose of understanding capabilities and reporting bugs and other compatibility issues.
  • University degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with 6 or more years of relevant experience in software development and solution design with a strong technical knowledge of programming languages.
  • Proficiency in Azure, GitHub, Azure SQL, SQL Server, .NET, API design, and RESTful services.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and Agile methodologies, enhancing project efficiency and collaboration.
  • Proven ability to integrate complex systems and support application collaborations within development teams.
  • Demonstrated competence in managing and leveraging the Azure environment effectively.
  • Understanding of business strategies and user expectations, with experience in training developers and maintaining documentation for new or modified applications.
  • Familiarity with automated testing, including unit testing and test-driven development, as well as QA automation principles.
  • You have a passion for relentlessly searching for the answers to problems and learning new vendor bugs/technologies, methodologies, and solutions to satisfy business requirements.
  • Proficient in debugging and using tools like Postman for testing applications.
  • Experience with OpenText Content Server extended ECM Rest API and Content Server Category and Attribute management and search models and capabilities.
  • OpenText Content Server Web and Live Report development a plus.
