Summary:
This role is for a talented Software Engineer with applied experience in building modern cloud services and web applications. The goal of this role is to design and develop key software systems for remote setup, management, and monitoring of our fleet of devices and ingestion, storage, visualization, and retrieval of data at a large scale. This engineer will work closely with other software engineers, product managers, UI/UX designers, and subject matter experts across the organization to implement solutions for a wide range of challenging clinical problems in MRI aimed at improving patient outcomes. Across the organization, they will make a significant contribution to the company’s overall vision of developing cloud services with a delightful look and feel.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop software systems and cloud applications with focus on maintenance, extensibility, integration, and security of data storage and retrieval.
  • Quickly learn new tooling, platforms, and frameworks, when building and developing microservices and APIs.
  • Adoption of new policies, technologies, and practices, as well as the evolution of existing methodologies.
  • Optimize frameworks, pipelines, visualizations, dashboards, and systems to remotely manage devices and facilitate collection of business analytics and reports across different products or domains.
  • Translate wireframes and sketches into HTML and CSS and collaborate with frontend and full-stack developers across the organization to drive company-wide excellence in user interaction.
  • Implement comprehensive medical web application systems for multiple large-scale internal and external projects and document the design and specifications for internal and regulatory documentation.
  • Define high-level architecture, design and implement software solutions, assume accountability for the deployment and release of contributed code, and support the post-release lifecycle of our products.
  • Mentor and support other engineers on the cloud team in your areas of expertise.
  • Maintain familiarity with compliance standards mandated within a regulated medical device environment.
  • Participate in the code review process.
  • Collaborate with software and cross-functional teams in design and technical reviews.

Knowledge and Skill:

  • Building modern cloud services on AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Strong coding skills, our stack is primarily Python, Golang and JavaScript,
  • Experience in backend web development with a strong foundation in best software engineering practices developing APIs and RESTful web services.
  • Proficiency in front-end web development using modern frameworks
  • Ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, showcasing strong teamwork skills with a remote team.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of technical challenges, drive solutions, and influence technical direction within the team.
  • Passion for staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and a continuous drive for learning and improvement.

NICE TO HAVE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL:

  • Prior experience working in a regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of managing Elasticsearch indices, including index lifecycle policies, mappings, and settings.
  • Experience working with Product and UI/UX designers, translating wireframes and requirements into web applications

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 8+ ‘years of experience; or Masters Degree in Computer Science and 5+ years of experience; or 12+ years of equivalent work experience.

Physical Demands:

  • Top-notch written and communication skills in English
  • Ability to use and program a computer for 8 hours a day, five days a week
